Munich History Lecture

mhl_kugel105To what extent is it possible for the science of history to explain the world? The Munich History Lecture (est. 2011) is devoted to comprehend history’s answer to this crucial question.

Our lecture series focuses on history’s approach towards understanding crucial issues of the present and the future: on the historical development of the modern world, such as the becoming of Europe; globalisation; war and peace in its various forms; the conditions of wealth and economic crises; the root of large-scale criminal activity and genocide, as well as the shaping of multilateral systems. Prominent historians from all over the world comment on these topics.

The sessions are addressed to LMU teachers and students as well as the general public.

The series is sponsored by the MUG (Münchner Universitätsgesellschaft) and the Gerda-Henkel-Stiftung.
